Before i changed the map, the oil temp was constantly at 230 or above.Īnother thing I did was go to a Jackpot header and that has helped a great deal with heat.but it's still very hot!!!! I know a few forum members have gotten the same header pipe ceramic coated but I'm not sure how big of a difference this make. My oil temp during cruise on a 70's degree day stays around 180-190 and on surface streets/stop and go around 220-230 which is normal. WINPV is easy to work with once you learn it. What I did with my PV map I received from Fuel Moto was I changed the AFR in WINPV to 13.7 and that change seems to work very well for me. If you know anyone that needs a power comander :eek So I'm going back to the tuner with the Power Vision to check it out and now I feel a little more comfortable making changes. I was a little nervous you know how it is, I took it for a test ride and got back 3 hours later:laugh. Cruse work fine, so I got out the lap top a reworked a tune for the power vision. Man I was very happy on my way home BUT, what the he'll my cruse is not working? Ah man that's F up, so I got back home and removed the PC5 and reinstalled the PV tuner. 10 min and I was on my way to the tuner, he got it right in and BOOM! 13.2, 13.4 I could feel the difference :nod he didn't have a lot of time to work with it he had a dozen or so bikes droped off. Great price, came with a download for my bike. The tuner liked the PC5, so I called fuel moto and ordered the power comander V. The tuner had never worked with the Power Vision and this was not the time of the year to learn a new unit. I must have the wrong tune, so a quick flash to the performance tune 10t096002427 and I got down to 14.0 to 14.4 not bad but not were I want to be. Well sure as shit my AFR was 14.6 and it would change a little but not were I would like to be. I found a small shop that had a dyno jet dyno:nod you know the kind of shop you can stand there as the bike is tuned. The power was improvement from stock but still lacking. Because I replaced the AC, Exhaust and installed the PVT all at the same time I didn't know what gave me the power increase? No mater what tune I used the engine had high oil temp and you could feel the heat. Let's talk about custom tunes and what's the best map! I have the PVT and for the last few months I used the download tune from dyno jet or the custom tune from fuel moto.
